External Monitoring of School Performance

Other external professionals coming into our school to evaluate what we do is an important element of our quality assurance system. They are able to provide a ‘critical eye’ and test out our judgements as to how we think the school is performing, in relation to local and national trends.

External monitoring can take many different forms, however, the most common external judgement on a school is that of an Ofsted Section 5 Inspection (Ofsted is an abbreviation for the Office of Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills), who are an independent organisation reporting directly to Parliament.

Ofsted inspectors not only make judgements on what the school needs to do to improve, they also report on the quality of education in four key areas:

  • Achievement of Pupils
  • Teaching
  • Leadership and Management
  • Behaviour and Safety.

Ofsted Report – June 2023

I am writing to share some exciting news regarding our recent Ofsted inspection. We have received the official report, and I am thrilled to inform you that we have achieved an excellent outcome, which we have been diligently working towards. I am particularly excited by the opening statement:

‘Krishna Avanti Primary School continues to be a good school. There is enough evidence of improved performance to suggest that the school could be judged outstanding if we were to carry out a graded (section 5) inspection now. The school’s next inspection will be a graded inspection.’

Our school underwent a Section 8 ungraded inspection, and we are immensely proud to have received the best possible outcome. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire school community, including students, parents, and staff members.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your continuous support and collaboration on our journey to achieve excellence. Your unwavering commitment to the education and well-being of our pupils has been instrumental in our success.

I would also like to extend a special appreciation to our incredible staff members. Their tireless efforts, passion, and expertise have ensured that we provide the best possible educational experience for the children we serve. It is their dedication that has contributed significantly to our positive Ofsted outcome.

With this achievement, our focus now turns to our next inspection, which will be a Section 5 full graded inspection. This inspection is anticipated to take place within the next 18 months to 2 years. While we celebrate our current success, we remain committed to maintaining and further enhancing the high standards that we have set for ourselves.

As always, we will continue to prioritise the holistic development and academic progress of our pupils. We value your partnership in nurturing their growth and providing them with a safe and stimulating learning environment. Together, we can ensure that every child at our school has the opportunity to excel and reach their full potential.

Once again, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each member of our school community. It is through our collective efforts and shared vision that we have achieved this remarkable outcome.

Thank you again for your unwavering support.
