On Monday and Wednesday this week the whole year 12 Biology cohort went out to Amersham Field Studies Centre to carry out their sampling to collect the data for the field investigation CPAC.

The students had an early start to the day, even with this they were in good sprits and there was lots of happy conversations on the tubes and bus there. As we got closer to the centre there was some shocked faces as to how little there was around.

As we walked up the drive there was the usual squeals as bugs were flying around them and the smell of the woods was noticed. Once in the classroom they showed their excellent understanding and knowledge of ecology and biodiversity. They then wandered into the woods and loved exploring the different habitats and identifying the different species, some of them were even brave enough to try wood sorrel and were surprised by the flavour.

I was very proud of how they all did on the different days they truly encompassed the Avanti values.
