Avanti Grange School Stakeholder Committee: Invitation of Expressions of Interest.

The Avanti Schools Trust do not have local governing bodies, but the Board of Trustees has established an important tier of governance by creating School Stakeholder Committees in all trust schools (SSCs). The role of the SSC is to:

  • Enhance the understanding of the Trust Board of the factors affecting local contexts and situations.
  • Support the Principal by providing perspectives from various stakeholder groups including staff, parents, students, and the wider community.
  • Attend SSC meetings and arrange visits to the school to review school activities.
  • Raise questions to the Principal and senior leaders of the school to provide a level of challenge for school improvement.
  • Provide termly assurance to the Trust Board that school improvement, ethos and strategic direction are consistent with the educational objectives, values, and vision of the Avanti Schools Trust.

Further information about the governance of the Avanti Schools Trust and the role and expectations of the SSC members is provided in the attached Governance Handbook. Governance-Handbook.pdf (avanti.org.uk)

The SSC plays an important role in shaping the development and direction of our school. We are currently looking to expand our SSC at Avanti Grange and welcome Expressions of Interest from people of all backgrounds and expertise. If you would like to become a Community SSC member, please complete the Expression of Interest Form using the following link SSC Expression of Interest (wufoo.com). Alternatively, contact the school directly to arrange a visit and meet with the Principal to discuss his vision for the school.
