Reflecting back on the past two years of my tenure as Chair, Friends of Avanti House (FOAH) has been all about delivering at pace, delivering to a high standard, and delivering professionally and consistently.  It is staggering to see how much we as a parent-teacher community have achieved between November 2017 and now.

As Chair of FOAH, I have been fortunate to have a strong Board with me for both years.

Below are some of the events that FOAH have organised with the unwavering support of the parent community and Ms Pandya, Avanti House Primary School’s Principal:

  1. 2017 Christmas Santa’s Grotto and gifts to all children
  2. Donation of £1,000 to the school library as well as books
  3. Gifts to the Children’s Ward at Northwick Park Hospital
  4. Participation on the school Dragon’s Den event as well as providing trophies to all participating children
  5. Holi pebbles decoration and educational presentation
  6. Finishing off the Sensory Garden to make it operational with its own water supply
  7. Easter bonnets, Easter bunny visit and Easter gifts to all children
  8. Donation of indoor wet-play games to each class
  9. Donation of cabinets to the school
  10. Money Sense workshops
  11. The mobile Planetarium event
  12. Bags2School and educational presentation on recycling to all children
  13. Donations of A Factor trophies, medals, and food for the event
  14. The first Summer Fair held at school
  15. Organising Bags2School
  16. Garba at Navratri
  17. 2018 Christmas Santa’s Grotto and gifts to all children

As this year progresses, I look forward to continuing to work with parents and the school to organise more events for the children of Avanti House Primary School and bring smiles on more little faces!

Watch this space!

Yours,

Hiren Bhimjiyani
