Dear Parents

We are now at the end of the Spring Term and I hope you all have a great Easter break.

The Spring Term has many positives, including the recruitment of new staff for next academic year; a successful Ofsted inspection; and the school’s first residential trip for the children in Year 5 which the children have without exception said they have really enjoyed.

The new club timetable for the Summer Term is quite a step up from what has been previously offered. I know the children will benefit from all they take part in. The clubs are wide and varied and change termly, purposefully, to enable lots of children with different interests to take part and develop their life skills.

I understand that some parents will question how new timings of clubs will work practically. However, please trust us – it is our job to make things work and they will. For clarity, the school day finishes at 14:45 which is when children need picking up (unless they are taking part in an offered activity).

It is important to try new ideas out with a positive manner rather than do the same old thing; with the clubs, that is what we are doing. I am sure all will appreciate it would be far easier for the school and staff to just end the school day at 14:45 and go home. For those that do have an issue with what we are trialling you can of course, take your children home at 14:45 – clubs are not compulsory.

I must comment on how pleased I am that staff are leading the clubs which will result in staff getting to know children much better in a different situations, as well as the children being able to shine in other ways.

Thank you again for the continued support, feedback and positivity. Year 5 will certainly sleep well and enjoy the Easter break after an action packed week at Caythorpe Court. Year 4 children, next year’s offer will be announced soon!

Yours sincerely
