The children of Krishna Avanti Primary School Leicester, enjoyed a great festival at school on Wednesday to celebrate the appearance of Lord Chaitanya over 500 years ago. We had a special guest speaker for assembly who same equipped with prizes and goodies and got the children following in the footsteps of Lord Chaitanya  by dancing and singing in great happiness and jubilation.

There were literacy and art activities planned for the day which engaged the children in their understanding of Chaitanya’s life and teachings.

After Break all the children performed an ‘Abhishek’ ceremony where they bathed the deities with milk, honey and water. An ancient Hindu tradition, done on special occasions and goes back thousands of years.

To make a fun day even better, there was a special lunch served to all children and staff which went down well with just about everyone.

Overall, the festival was a great success with lots of fun and learning!
