This week we have had a good look over the various Google Classrooms and as you would expect, dropped into live lessons. I am quite pleased with the learning that is taking place and how both children, staff and parents have been very flexible and adaptable to the demands. We have all learnt so much and will continue to do so.

Thank you for continuing to be patient; thank you for your kind words of appreciation. Make sure you be kind to yourselves and when, like today, the internet goes down and plans are disrupted, just enjoy what you can around you.

Remote Learning Support and Critical Worker Bookings

We appear to have a small number of children coming to school that should not be – with parents who are not Critical Workers. Please do not book your child in if you shouldn’t be as we now require the evidence that you are in fact eligible. If people do not take this Lockdown seriously, it is going to take longer for us to get everybody back. I appreciate that it is very difficult at home but we must keep going.

We now have a number of Vodafone SIM cards and BT codes to help those children at home with WIFI issues. The SIM cards can be put into any device and will only give internet access – not calls. The BT codes can be used but must be assigned to an individual after a Hot-Spot check has been carried out. If you have WIFI issues, use the Remote Learning Support form to let us know and whether you would like a SIM card or BT code.

A reminder that we are here to help if we can. Please do fill in the appropriate form for support, bookings etc…

Parent Questionnaire Updates

The Parent Questionnaire  link is still there is you have not yet submitted a response. is still available. So far we have had 95 submissions. If you haven’t completed it, please do. We also have the external 360 Reviews which allow you to focus on specific areas. I hope this is useful.

School staff have been looking at the different classrooms and how we set them up. As mentioned above, we are all learning and will continue to do so. I would be interested to know how your child’s Google Classroom setup (for the Classwork) works for you? We have a few different setups across the school, all with their own benefits. If you have a particular view, please use the  external 360 Reviews form as select Google Classroom. We can then look at the positives and areas that cause you issues; and from those, aim to make things even better.

Tech Challenge

Can you create and save a document in Google Drive, that can be used each week? It could be a Doc with a story or list being updated each week. It could be a Sheets document where you add scores and it updates charts. Go explore.

  1. Decide what document type you will update each week.
  2. Create the document and save it in your own Google Drive or a class Google Drive.
  3. You could explore sharing it with friends.
