The end of the first week back after lockdown is complete. It has been a busy first week back and we have been working hard to ensure that the children’s well-being is at the forefront of our minds.

Remote Learning Support

Last week I explained that we will continue to use Google classroom in various ways and it is sadly needed for the purposes of those needing to self isolate, with one of our classes off until Thursday next week. The remote learning support form remains on our website so please use it as you need to. Click here for any remote learning support.

School Finishing Times

We have been monitoring the Foundation Two and Key Stage One pickup time and are reasonably pleased with how quickly it is completed. As such, from Monday the Foundation Two, Year One and Year Two children will finish the day at 14:30. Please do continue to try to be as efficient as possible whilst maintaining safe distances. If all are picked up by 14:35 consistently, we can aim to move that time back a further five minutes.

A reminder for those parents with children in both the lower school and Key Stage Two, your younger child will stay in school until 14:45 when they will leave with their sibling. Please note that this is strictly siblings. We are unable to change this for those that are picking up other children.

Science Day

It has been a great day to see so many children enjoying science day. It was impressive to see the children come to school dressed as various scientists and trying out various experiments in classes.  I would like to express a big thank you to Mrs Sharma and Mr Shah, who took time out of their busy schedule, to come and discuss their careers in science and the volcano experiments with the children in Foundation Two. Thank you to everybody for the efforts to help inspire the children and hopefully encourage that interest in a wonderful subject.

From Monday, any children not picked up on time will join the library club which will incur a charge.

Tech Challenge

Today’s Tech Challenge is to browse our library system and get used to logging in, logging out and writing a blog about a recent book you have read. In order to do this:

1. Go to: readingcloud.net

2. Insert your user name (unique library number found on your barcode)

3. Insert your password (your Date of Birth – e.g. 21102014)

4. Choose our school by typing the postcode ‘LE56HN’ or ‘Krish’ and it should show up.

Children are to explore the website; discuss what they like and what they can find.

Children can also write a blog about a recent book they have read.  Before it is saved, they need to check that the review makes sense and then save.

Thank you all for your continued support. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and the children have enjoyed the first week back at school.

Take care and stay safe.
