The idea for Avanti began in 2003 and our first school was opened in 2008. Our vision was for a family of schools based upon our core principles of educational excellence, character formation and spiritual insight. We now have close to 4,000 students and 400 members of staff across our family of 10 schools with four more schools in pre-opening. This page gives you a glimpse into what life is like at Avanti!
For Students
Project-based learning
Project-based learning is a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge. Students at all ages engage in projects, from studying the environment, to social experiments, to working on scientific innovations.
Yoga & Mindfulness
Every student has access to Yoga and Mindfulness sessions ranging from 20 minutes to 1 hour a week. Yoga and Mindfulness help ground students, relieve stress and improve their overall health and wellbeing. Learning these skills from a young age allow pupils to practise it day-in-day-out as they grow up. We often hear of stories were pupils have felt stressed or overwhelmed outside of school and came and told their teachers they did breathing excersises or yoga postures to calm down and recalibrate!
For Parents
Avanti Nights
Avanti hosts regular events called “Avanti Nights” for parents and the wider community. This is a series of events focused around wellbeing and development for parents in their personal and family lives. We’ve had events ranging from “Conscious Parenting” to “the Business of Life.” These events provide an opportunity for parents to hear expert speakers and gain wisdom and insight into every-day topics.
Collaboration
Parents and families have the most direct and lasting impact on children’s learning and development. As the first educators of their children, they play a crucial role in their children’s educational journey. A stimulating home environment that encourages learning as well as parental engagement in in-school activities are crucial for a child’s cognitive, social and emotional development. Building family-school partnerships and engaging parents as learning partners from the early years is therefore essential to improving children’s and young people’s development.
