PARENTS

Parents and families have the most direct and lasting impact on children’s learning and development. As the first educators of their children, they play a crucial role in their children’s educational journey. Avanti schools work with parents to ensure there is the committed engagement of parents and carers as co-educators.

AVANTI NIGHTS

Avanti hosts regular events called “Avanti Nights” for parents and the wider community. This is a series of events focused around wellbeing and development for parents in their personal and family lives. We’ve had events ranging from “Conscious Parenting” to “the Business of Life.” These events provide an opportunity for parents to hear expert speakers and gain wisdom and insight into every-day topics.

COLLABORATION

Parents and families have the most direct and lasting impact on children’s learning and development. As the first educators of their children, they play a crucial role in their children’s educational journey. A stimulating home environment that encourages learning as well as parental engagement in in-school activities is crucial for a child’s cognitive, social and emotional development. Building family-school partnerships and engaging parents as learning partners from the early years is therefore essential to improving children’s and young people’s development.

Parent-Teacher Groups

Avanti has worked with parents across the country to develop flourishing parent-teacher associations. These groups have supported the schools through fundraising, charitable projects and volunteering. Volunteering is a key part of schools. Schools are communities and volunteers support the life long learning journeys of students. Parents are often seen volunteering by delivering career talks, reading to younger children or through professional support.

Avanti Giving

At Avanti, we know our parents are extremely caring and supportive. Often, we are surprised by the generosity and kindness shown from our community of parents. We have experienced this time and time again, be it through the sacrifice of your time to support classroom teaching through to valuable parental support groups. We know you give us this support because you passionately believe in investing in the future, just as we do. It is this spirit which drives us!
