STAFF

Our vision for educational excellence is one where deeply inspired teachers nurture joyful students and nourish their innate passion for learning. Avanti teachers are supported by strong CPD programmes, a powerful network of educators across the country and clean, uncluttered and inspiring learning environments support a mindful engagement with learning.

STAFF WELLBEING

Avanti schools place key value on the wellbeing and development of staff. The Trust organises an annual wellbeing retreat, giving the opportunity for all staff to experience a wellbeing retreat at no-cost. This supports the staff to feel nourished and enthused to be part of Avanti. Our schools also offer yoga sessions for staff to support their mental and physical wellbeing and as part of the annual CPD programme, several sessions are dedicated to staff wellbeing, where external speakers will come to share insight on wellbeing with staff, giving them the tools to use in their daily life, inside and outside of Avanti.

EdTech

The EdTech industry is re-imaging education, aiming to remove barriers to learning and prepare learners for their future careers. EdTech is used at Avanti to personalise students learning experience and ultimately supporting students to their tailored education pathways. Through EdTech, teachers are able to allow students to collaborate on pieces of work, share instant feedback with parents and carers and analyse attainment and progress data on a variety of levels to support and challenge students in their learning.

CPD

Educational excellence is not only for students. Staff have an excellent CPD programme. Staff have weekly CPD sessions presented by a variety of speakers, in-house and external. In the previous years, staff have had sessions from Sugata Mitra on the “Open Classroom”, Alison Peacock on “Mastering Teaching & Learning” and many other sessions. Between weekly sessions, bi-annual conferences, bespoke course plans, access to professional magazines and regular training staff have abundant opportunities to deepen their practise and develop their skills.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Engaged research projects across the Avanti schools drive school improvement, pupil wellbeing and outcomes. Groups of teachers are led through research projects, for their own development and to upskill their peers. Currently, we are studying the effects of Yoga on students, the key reasons for gender differences in attainment and the most effective methods of behaviour management and supporting pupils in the classroom. The outcomes of these internal studies, led by experts outside of Avanti informs best practise strategies across the Trust.
