- It shows to an employer that young people have gained some transferrable skills, balanced their time with studies and starts to demonstrate a positive work ethic.
- It can give you a taste of a job that you may be interested in pursuing in the future.
In Year 10, our students can complete a week of work experience within the workplace and our current Year 10’s will be going out on placement from 3rd June – 7th June 2024.
Self Placement: We ask students, with family support, to find a self-placement, as these are often the best match of placement for your son or daughter. To ensure that the self-placement is suitable for your child we contract the Leicestershire Enterprise and Business Company (LEBC) to visit new placements to check insurances, health and safety requirements and create a job description. As we must give them sufficient time to do this there is a deadline of Friday 6th October 2023 to return completed self-placement forms to Form Tutors. Then LEBC will contact the employer and arrange a visit on your and our behalf. As well as completing a self-placement form, ALL students are required to complete the LEBC application form. This form will be given out by form tutors.
