Local MP Wes Streeting (Labour Ilford North & Secretary of State for Health and Social Care) attended Avanti Court School to open the new library. The special visit, led by some of last year’s Reading Ambassadors and Mrs Nazrul, involved the MP being quizzed by the children, asked highly political questions about the House of Lords as well as who his favourite pop star is!
Wes appreciated the tremendous effort invested into the Library by the dedicated FOAC team and commented on how calm the school was and the impeccable behaviour of the children.
“The MP met our school projects and discussed worldly affairs, democratic voting and ambitions for the future,” said Mr Koorich. “Our children are the compassionate changemakers of tomorrow and we are very proud!”
