The product of months of independent planning and writing, Inaya Shah launched her book TSW: My Rejected Condition at Avanti House on Thursday 3rd October.
In the book, Inaya shares her experiences of growing up with Tropical Steroid Withdrawal. In the first step of her writing career, Inaya worked on the book editing and even finding the publishers! It has taken great bravery to share such a personal issue through the medium of writing, and the author hopes her work will inspire others who might have shared her experience.
Anjani Haria, Diyana Hirani, Mya Senghani and Seeyana Shah from Avanti House 6th form collectively launched their book Maeve at Home
on 17th October. The children’s book is about loneliness, family, diversity and fitting in. The students collectively wrote the book and created the book illustrations.
“As a Sixth Form team we are very proud of our students as they have pushed themselves out of their comfort zones to write their books, but also share their words with the world,” said Dhruti Parshotam, Progress Lead Y13. “We as a team would also like to thank the Mark Evison Foundation for inspiring the students with their vision to promote the personal development of young people through the undertaking of challenges.”
