Year 5 Black History Month

In Year 5, for Black History Month, we researched all about the Civil Rights Act, 1964 and the movements that lead to the African Americans’ right to Vote.

We listened to Martin Luther King’s speech ‘I have a dream…’and then we created posters in groups to show what we have learned and presented them to the rest of the class. In addition, we discussed some of the character virtues that were demonstrated by Martin Luther King such as citizenship, community, civility, justice and teamwork.
