Mayor of Leicester City visits Avanti Fields School
The Leicester City Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby, visited Avanti Fields School on the morning of Wednesday 6th March 2019. Accompanied by some of the City’s leading community and faith leaders, the City Mayor formally opened the school’s temporary site, at the old Bede Island Campus on the corner of Narborough Road and Upperton Road.
The new all-through Avanti school opened with Year students in September 2018. The school moved into its refurbished temporary site at the end of November and has now gained full access to the refurbished building. With its new science labs, sports hall and spacious classrooms, Avanti Fields will support the delivery of an exciting, robust curriculum for its Year 7 cohort. Eventually, the school will move to its permanent home, a purpose built state of the art building in Hamilton.
