Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Avanti House Primary School is a fully inclusive Hindu faith mainstream school that admits pupils from 4 years old up to 11 years. We aim to ensure that all pupils achieve their potential, personally, socially, emotionally and academically in all areas of the curriculum (regardless of their gender, ethnicity, social background, religion, sexual identity, physical ability or educational needs).

At Avanti House, we believe that all children are uniquely gifted and talented. To this end, we will encourage and support them on their journey. However, we also recognise that many students during their time at school experience difficulties which may include dyslexia, autism, low self-esteem or a more generalised learning difficulty. Whatever the student’s talents or needs, we are genuinely committed to enabling each student to grow and develop to reach their full potential.

What to do if you have a concern about your child

If your child is already at the school, the first point of call should be the child’s class teacher who can liaise with the SENCo for you. Where external agencies are involved, the SENCo may be better placed to help and will be happy to do so. The class teacher can be available for quick updates each day but where more time is needed, an appointment can be made with the SENCo. If you are unable to see the class teacher before or after school, contact the school via the email or phone numbers below.

We can help with:

  • Supporting your child’s learning
  • Encouraging independence
  • Boosting confidence/self-esteem
  • Establishing positive behaviour strategies

Please contact us and we can work together to resolve any issues which may be worrying you or your child. To make an appointment please contact:
