Principals Update
The last bulletin of a fantastic year. I can truly say that I am honoured to be leading such a great school, a wonderful set of staff and a pupil and parent body who are dedicated to their education. I have started preparing the senior team that you’ll be hearing me say the word ‘Outstanding’ a lot more next year – you will need to get used to it also. There are upcoming changes to the Ofsted framework in the new academic year and we are ready to meet this new challenge and be ready for their next visit. This is a message echoed in Mr Dipak Patel’s SSC Chairs message that you will find in the section below.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the following staff for their dedication and contributions to Avanti Fields school and wish them all well in their next steps. Whether it is retiring, or moving onto other educational or creative pursuits, we wish you all the best for the future.
Mr Clampin – your leadership of Computing, and overseeing Business Studies and Economics has been appreciated. But more than that – you are a rock star and your presence in the staff band will be a hard position to fill.
Miss Roberts – thank you for your tireless passion to supporting our Year 8 cohort as Head of Year. You embody the Avanti Way in how you work with our young people. Alongside this, your contributions to the English department have been significant and welcome.
Mr Burlinski – thank you for all that you have done within the English department and the support you have given to Mrs Bali in your Key Stage Lead role. Your mix of personal and professional when mentoring our SCITT teachers was exceptional.
Mrs Marshall – your dedication to making sure each and every pupils feels included and safe in school has been inspirational. Over the years your advocacy and work with some of our more vulnerable students is underpinned by your passion for education and wanting the best of each young person coming through your Art classroom.
Mrs Lord – since joining as an Academic mentor, and then moving to the PRE department, you have supported our pupils exceptionally well. You have stepped into the role with passion and filled a gap in our staffing this year and it has been genuinely appreciated.
Mr Baali – you have been a fantastic member of the Spanish department. While we knew that you would only be with us for this academic year, you have put your all into the work you do to support our pupils and it is appreciated.
Mrs Walshe – always working in the background, your passion for Art and ceramics have inspired our pupils. Your organisation and support of the Art department over the last few years has meant we can offer a truly exceptional curriculum to our learners.
Miss F Patel – your time with our primary team has been instrumental in ensuring a stable and inclusive learning environment in the primary phase. Your work leading interventions and supporting our pupils has made such an impact on their learning journeys.
Miss Robbins – thank you for your passion to deliver primary yoga to our pupils. This part of our core offer is important for our youngest learners and you have made sure everyone felt included in your lessons.

Primary News
Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils,
As we bring this academic year to a close, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable journey we have shared. It has been a year of learning, growth, celebration and connection, beautifully guided by the principles of The Avanti Way.
Rooted in Spiritual Insight
At the heart of our school community lies spiritual insight. This year, our pupils have continued to build strong foundations through yoga, meditation and reflection. These practices encourage presence, calmness and resilience, helping shape not only how our pupils respond to challenges, but also how they view themselves and others.
Our school has also come together to celebrate festivals such as Holi and Ratha Yatra. These joyous occasions brought the Avanti values to life through colour, music, devotion and community. They offered pupils opportunities to deepen their spiritual connection, explore tradition and practise values such as inclusion, gratitude and service.
Growing Character Through Experience
The trunk of our Avanti Tree, representing character formation, has grown stronger through a wide variety of real-world experiences. Our school trips and guest visitors have provided powerful learning opportunities beyond the classroom. Whether exploring natural beauty, engaging in cultural visits or learning from inspirational speakers, these moments have nurtured empathy, confidence, humility and open-mindedness.
By encountering new environments and perspectives, our pupils have reflected deeply on how to live with purpose and integrity, developing not just their knowledge, but their character.
Striving for Educational Excellence
At the crown of our tree sits educational excellence, which encompasses far more than academic results. At Avanti, we encourage every pupil — and indeed our whole school community — to strive to be the best version of themselves. This year, we have celebrated not only excellent academic achievements, but also the personal effort, resilience and curiosity that underpin lifelong learning.
We have embraced healthy competition through sports day, house events, reading competitions and maths competitions. These experiences have motivated pupils to challenge themselves, support one another and take pride in their growth. We believe that true excellence lies not in comparison, but in continual self-improvement.
Looking Ahead
As we look forward to the new academic year, I invite our entire school community to continue walking the path of The Avanti Way: grounded in spiritual insight, strengthened through character, and reaching towards excellence. Together, we are shaping not just learners, but thoughtful, compassionate individuals who will go on to make a meaningful difference in the world.
Thank you for your continued support, encouragement and trust. I wish you and your families a joyful, restful and well-deserved summer break.
With warmest regards,
Ms Thakore

House Point Winners and Attendance Winners
Aether and Daffodil class are in the lead! Aether won our house point competition this term, and Daffodil class won the Attendance trophy for this term, so Miss Savadia organised a special treat…a bouncy castle! The children jumped around and had so much fun! Before jumping with joy, they spoke about the importance of WHY we follow our core values and how they are going to show the core values next term. We are so proud of them. I wonder which house will win the competition next term?
Daffodil Class had a bouncing good time celebrating their amazing attendance with a bouncy castle treat! We’re so thankful, joyful, and full of bounce — what a fantastic end-of-year celebration!”
Enrichment day: Friday 29th August
When we return after the holidays, as part of the settling in and transition, all children will have a fun-filled session of Archery (Reception- Year 3) or Fun Fitness (Preschool) on Friday 29th August. Can you please ensure your child is wearing P.E kit on this day so that they can join in on the fun!
Magical moment (Bharatnatyam classical Dance)
During End of year Assembly, primary Students performed a classical Bharatanatyam dance during the assembly, which was truly mesmerizing and showcased their talent and dedication to the art form.”
Pre-school: This week, Pre-school visited the worship hall to reflect on the year and show gratitude. We shared our favourite memory of the year which included sharing with our friends, meeting Jungle jo and her minibeast friends and of course graduation! We also harvested the potatoes we planted and found some mini-beast friends of our own. During our party, we made fruit smoothies and enjoyed the delicious berry drink!
Reception: What an incredible final week it’s been! The children have had an absolute blast celebrating the end of term with fabulous class parties. They came dressed to impress in their favourite party outfits, ready for a week full of fun and laughter. We enjoyed delicious party treats and played all the classic games — from Pass the Parcel and Musical Chairs to Musical Statues and so many more! The excitement and joy were truly contagious.
Daisy and Buttercup Class would like to wish everyone a fun-filled, sunshine-packed summer holiday! ☀️
Year 1:What a fantastic year it’s been for our wonderful Year 1s! From festivals and field trips to furry friends and creative crafts, our pupils have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and excitement.
Year 2: Year 2- what a finale of a week! It has been filled with laughter, love and kindness from both staff and children. Year 2 have enjoyed finishing their final writing piece, a recount of their visit to Skegness. They have also indulged in dancing, party games, cinema club, snacks galore and plenty of time spent reminiscing with friends. Such special memories we have made this year in Year 2 which will be remembered forever and all the staff are so grateful to the children for always trying their absolute best in everything they do. A heartfelt thank you from the RRSA Steering Group and Silver Interview Panel
What an incredible journey it has been! We are thrilled to share that the RRSA Steering Group and the Silver Interview Panel had an absolute blast celebrating on the bouncy castle—what a fun and joyful way to mark such an important milestone in our school’s Rights Respecting journey!
On behalf of Miss Savadia and all of the Rights Respecting Ambassadors, we want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has supported us in achieving the UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Silver Award. Your unwavering encouragement, guidance, and belief in the power of student voice have been vital in helping us reach this goal.
This achievement is not just a celebration of our hard work, but a reflection of the Avanti Fields School Core Values in action:
Gratitude – We are truly thankful for the time, effort, and energy that so many staff, students, and members of our community have contributed to this success.
Respect – Our journey has strengthened our understanding and appreciation of children’s rights and the importance of respecting every individual’s voice, identity, and experiences.
Empathy – Through our work, we’ve learned to see the world through others’ eyes and to take action in meaningful ways that promote kindness and inclusion.
Integrity – We’ve stayed committed to our vision, acting with honesty and purpose throughout the entire process.
Courage – Speaking out, sharing our beliefs, and striving for change takes courage—and we are proud of each ambassador for showing just that.
Self-Discipline – Whether it was preparing presentations, leading assemblies, or attending meetings, our team has demonstrated dedication, responsibility, and resilience every step of the way.
We are so proud of what we have achieved together—and we know this is only the beginning. Silver is a huge milestone, but our adventure continues. We can’t wait to see where our journey toward Gold takes us next!
With heartfelt thanks,
Miss Savadia and the Rights Respecting Ambassadors

RRSA Articles of the Week
Week 6 – Article 3
Article’s you could explore which link to this topic: 3
Article 3 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) says that whenever adults make decisions that affect children, they must always think about what is best for the child. This includes parents, teachers, doctors, and especially people who work in governments or services that help children, like schools, hospitals, or the police. The goal is to make sure children are safe, healthy, and supported to grow and develop.
We focused on all adults (dutybearers) have a responsibility to protect and care for children and to listen to what children need. Children’s best interests must always come first.
Some reasons why this is so important include:
- Children rely on adults to make choices that keep them safe and well.
- Adults sometimes have more knowledge or experience, but they should still listen to children’s views.
- Every child is different, and decisions should be made with their individual needs in mind.
- When adults put children first, they help create a fairer, kinder world.
Here is an activity you can do at home.
Talk about some decisions that adults make for children, like what time bedtime is, what to eat for dinner, or how to stay safe. Discuss how these decisions are made to help and protect children. How does it feel to know that adults should always do what’s best for you?
Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles. Please help them learn this Article of the Week, and what this means.

Phone: 0116 326 6813 (Option 1 to leave a voicemail)
Please remember to state your child’s full name, tutor group and reason for absence. If your child is unwell, please could you give a brief description of the symptoms.
All education research highlights how crucial it is to a child’s academic progress and wellbeing they attend school , on time, all of the time. Therefore, a reminder that it is important that families organise events or holidays outside of school time to ensure that their child is at school as often as possible.
The school works closely with the Education Welfare Officer at LCC, and we do seek to ensure that any requests for authorised absence are dealt with on a case-by-case basis, in a sensitive manner. However, the school can never authorise a family holiday or a trip abroad to visit family members during term time.
This academic year, families will have two weeks at the October half-term, three weeks at Christmas and two weeks at Easter for extended family holidays. Please do ensure that if booking holidays, they fall within the holiday periods.
