We are now at the end of the three weeks back for all and it is the last day as we break for Easter. We have been very pleased with the attitude of all children over the weeks and yesterday’s Holi celebration really did sum up the positives of being back – lots of colour and laughter. Thank you for your support and helping make the return as smooth as possible. For those that were unable to attend, Central News were present to film it for tonight’s 18:00 broadcast.
Staff Training Day
The planned training day for all Avanti Schools Trust staff has been moved from Friday 2 July to Friday 21st May. We have updated the school calendar on the website and we hope that this does not cause any inconvenience. School will be closed to children on Friday 21st May.
Coming Relief
Thank you to everybody that raised money and contributed for Comic Relief. I am really pleased to let you know that we raised a combined £702.49. In difficult times it’s so good to be able to help people and you have all done that.
School Finishing Times – Foundation Two and Key Stage One
Thank you all for completing the short form about the finish time for your children in Foundation Two and Key Stage One. The majority shared the preference to keep the current 14:30 finish. This is what we will do but keep asking all to be as quick as possible with the pick ups and maintain distances.
Summer Term Clubs
We are continuing to offer the Class Clubs throughout the summer term. There is a new timetable so please have a look and book your child in. We have tried to keep the days the same as much as possible, but some changes are unavoidable. For Class Clubs, places are guaranteed – please just complete the form – your child will have a place. For the other clubs, we will inform you on Wednesday 14th April, ready for all clubs to begin on Monday 19th April.
Tech Challenge
The Tech Challenge for the Easter break is to explore the use of Seesaw – an application available on school devices and also online. You can learn to create posts/clips as well as convert work to QR codes with a click of a button to then share with each other. You will need to create an account and this can be done using your Google account. Staff can also create an account and use it in the same way. https://web.seesaw.me/getting-started
