Principals Update
I always love the end of the school year; we have so many uplifting activities that remind me of the joy of working with young people and their families. Yesterday we welcomed our incoming Year 6 pupils for their transition day, and Ms Kholia and I also had an opportunity to welcome their parents and prepare them for the changes that secondary school will bring. Following this, I had the pleasure of attending the Pre-school graduation. This is a fantastic event to wish our youngest learners the best on their next steps in education. Uplifting songs and lots of food for pupils and parents was a highlight.

We welcome recommendations of teachers who are passionate about language instruction and have experience working with children. Please email [email protected].
Your support and input are greatly appreciated as we strive to provide enriching language learning opportunities for our students.
Uniform Donation
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this message finds you well.
As part of our ongoing commitment to support families within our school community, we are pleased to announce a Uniform Donation Drive. We warmly welcome donations of unwanted school uniforms, which will be distributed to families in need to help ensure all students have access to the clothing required for school.
If you have any clean, gently used trousers, skirts, shirts, cardigans, ties, PE kits and blazers that your child has outgrown, we would be grateful if you could consider donating them. We kindly ask that all items be washed and in good condition to ensure they are ready to be passed on.
We would like to make a special request to our Year 11 students and their families to contribute uniforms that are no longer needed, as these donations will make a significant difference to students starting fresh or those who require additional support.
Donations can be brought to the Main Reception/Admin Office by Thursday 10th July. ( During school hours)
Thank you very much for your generosity and support in helping us build a caring and inclusive school community.

Preschool Graduation
As we wrap up the school year, I want to share how proud I am of every student’s growth and achievements—from our youngest pre-schoolers to our older children. We recently celebrated our preschool graduation, and seeing those little ones take such a big step filled me with joy. It’s been wonderful to watch all our students learn, explore, and grow in so many ways this year. Thank you to all the families for your support and partnership in making this a successful and memorable year for everyone.
Celebration Assembly – Attendance
This week we celebrated the children who have had 100% attendance since the beginning of the academic year, in a special assembly! We invited parents/carers in to celebrate this special achievement with us too. We are so proud of all of our superstars, and can’t wait to celebrate even more children in the new year! ⭐️
End of year class parties
Children will be joining in with class parties on Thursday 10th July 2025. On this day children can come to school in their party clothes to celebrate. Ethos friendly snack donations are welcomed for the party such as crisps, biscuits, drinks, popcorn and savoury snacks. Please give any donations to your child’s class teacher.
Breakfast club
We are excited to invite your child to join our brand-new Breakfast Club, which successfully launched this term at Avanti Fields. The club runs every weekday from 7:30am, offering a warm and welcoming start to the school day.
Children attending the club will receive a healthy breakfast and have the opportunity to enjoy board games, puzzles and other fun activities with friends before lessons begin. This provision is completely free of charge and families are welcome to book as many days as they wish.
To sign up, simply log in to the clubs section in your Arbor account and select the days you would like your child to attend.
We hope this new initiative will support your child’s well-being and help them start each day positively and ready to learn.
Pre-school: This week, Pre-School have been developing their problem-solving and collaboration skills. As a team, they participated in a sand challenge, where they had to choose a suitable tool to move sand from one container to another in just one minute! The children also became inventors, using their creativity and imagination to design and build their own unique constructions with various materials, showing great curiosity and innovation.
In addition, our Pre-School children who are starting Reception had their graduation. We had a wonderful time celebrating their achievements and performing songs for our families. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and wish each child the very best of luck as they begin their exciting journey into Reception!
Reception: The children had an amazing time inside the Wonder dome Planetarium, where they explored the wonders of our Solar System! They learned fun facts about the planets, from tiny Mercury, to giant Jupiter, and we even sang the Solar System Song to help remember them all! Can you name the 8 planets in our Solar System? It was a fun, star-filled adventure that left everyone dreaming of space!
Year 1:This week in Year 1, we have been using our skill of collaging in Art and Design to make a creative picture. First, we snipped and pasted different materials together to create a background for our image. Then, we used shapes and arranged them in a way to create our own picture e.g. a car, flowers, animals, building etc. We also enjoyed colouring our pictures in by using oil pastels! Can you create your own collage at home?
Year 2: Year 2 have been learning all about position and direction—making quarter turns, half turns, and moving to different locations. Can you do a quarter turn or a half turn? Give it a go!
Stars of the week
All pupils who were a star of the week joined the ‘top table’ for lunch. A huge well done to: ……..

What is their favourite memory.
Here is a linked activity you can do at home:
How do you like to spend your free time? Think about what your ideal weekend would be like. Where would you go? What would you do? What activities would you participate in? What rights would you enjoy? Create a comic strip showing your dream weekend and share it with your class.
Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles. Please help them learn this Article of the Week, and what this means.

Measles can make children very sick. It can cause a high fever, rash, cough, and sore eyes.
Some children get very ill and may need to go to hospital. Measles can have serious consequences, sometimes fatal, to help prevent children and those around them from becoming unwell with measles this summer please check your child’s Red Book or with your GP Practice to see if they have been fully vaccinated.
The MMR vaccine protects your child from:

Children need two doses of the MMR vaccine for full protection.
If your child has missed a vaccine, it’s not too late.

Please remember to state your child’s full name, tutor group and reason for absence. If your child is unwell, please could you give a brief description of the symptoms.
All education research highlights how crucial it is to a child’s academic progress and wellbeing they attend school , on time, all of the time. Therefore, a reminder that it is important that families organise events or holidays outside of school time to ensure that their child is at school as often as possible.
The school works closely with the Education Welfare Officer at LCC, and we do seek to ensure that any requests for authorised absence are dealt with on a case-by-case basis, in a sensitive manner. However, the school can never authorise a family holiday or a trip abroad to visit family members during term time.
This academic year, families will have two weeks at the October half-term, three weeks at Christmas and two weeks at Easter for extended family holidays. Please do ensure that if booking holidays, they fall within the holiday periods.
