At KAPSH, we celebrated Art and Interfaith Week focusing on the theme ”Art matters for people of all religions”. Through carefully planned cross-curricular lessons, children across the school learnt about one of the seven main religions of the world and the connections between that religion and what we follow here at school.

Children read engaging stories during their English lessons to deepen their understanding of the faith they were focusing on. Following a wood painting workshop where they learnt the intricate techniques of wood painting, they went on to discover the deeper meanings behind the religious symbols that represent each faith and learnt how to sketch them accurately,  paint them on wood using acrylic paint, apply gold leaf embellishments and a varnish finish.

Our children increased their confidence in their own artistic abilities, developed resilience and worked independently to create good outcomes.
