Principals Update
It’s a little hard to believe that we are almost half-way through the Summer 1 term and we’ve already got so many things going on in our school calendar. Year 7 pupils had a fantastic time on the Avanti Quest residential last week, and our Year 11 students officially began their GCSE exams yesterday. Primary pupils have enjoyed their Earth Day celebrations and we are continuing our trips to visit the ISKCON temple this week and next for our Year 1 pupils. Next week, we will also be running the school’s first ever KS1 SATS exams – a big thank you to Ms Thakore and the primary team for preparing for these.
Leicester Hub Collaboration
Please see below a video message from Dr James Biddulph, our incoming CEO, about the Leicester hub for 2025-26. We are excited to continue the collaboration between both Krishna Avanti and Avanti Fields in the next academic year.
International Conflict
As you may be aware, air strikes between India and Pakistan/Kashmir occurred earlier this week and are now ongoing. Given the backgrounds of the young people in our school, it is possible that some individuals may be affected emotionally or psychologically by these developments.
We have advised staff to be vigilant and attentive to their pupils. In particular, we have reminded staff to remain politically neutral and challenge fake news or extremist views. We have emphasised that we want our young people to feel comfortable sharing their feelings or worries on such matters, but will focus on reassuring our children that we as a school community show kindness, respect and tolerance for all.
The Leicester city police reassured schools that they are working with local community leaders. As parents, we ask that you share any concerns you may have with the safeguarding team. Equally, we encourage our parent community to demonstrate our Avanti virtues during this time.
Breakfast Club Volunteers
We are reaching out to invite volunteers to join our Breakfast Club at Avanti Fields Primary School and Krishna Avanti Primary School for the upcoming Summer Term and the 2025–26 academic year.
The Breakfast Club runs daily from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM during term time. We are looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to help support our primary children and ensure they begin their school day in a positive and welcoming environment.
Breakfast Club volunteers would be asked to support with the setup and pack away of Breakfast club and work with staff to run the club. To accommodate different parent schedules, we would welcome parents who could support at any of the below times:
- 7:15 AM – 7:45 AM
- 7:45 AM – 8:15 AM
- 7:15 AM – 8:15 AM
While we ideally seek volunteers who can commit from Monday to Friday, we are also open to more flexible arrangements to suit your availability.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via this form:

Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a meaningful difference in our students’ daily experience.

Week 2: Our School Year so far
Article’s you could explore which link to this topic: 31
Article 31 (Leisure, Play and Culture)- Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.
This week, we focused on our school year, and we reflected on all of the fun we have had. We have celebrated many different festivals such as Christmas, Gaura Purnima and Holi. We spoke about different ways we have enjoyed Article 31 such as through arts and craft activities, playing with our friends, going on trips and doing yoga.
Here is a linked activity you can do at home:
Some people like to relax by dancing. Different cultures have different traditional dances. Do you know any? Why not try to learn a traditional dance with your friends or family using the programmes from BBC School Radio?
Every week, children will be learning about an ‘Article of the Week’. This will help our children to learn and develop an understanding about the Convention on the Rights of the Child articles. Please help them learn this Article of the Week, and what this means.

Pilgrimage yatra to India
Namaste and Hare Krishna dear parents,
☀️We are excited to announce our 3rd annual pilgrimage to India during the Oct half term holidays.☀️
This time, the yatra is going to Mayapur and Jagannatha Puri for 12 nights, during the auspicious month of Kartik!
Mayapur is the birth place of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and is home to the largest Hindu temple in the world – The temple of the Vedic Planetarium! It’s right on the banks of the Holy Ganga river and many wonderful temples. Jagannatha Puri is home to the very ancient deities of Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra Devi, amongst many other sacred places. It is also a famous beach holiday destination.
We will also visit the world renowned Konark Sun temple and one of the 12 main Jyotirlingas, the Bhuvaneśvara’s Lingaraj deity of Lord Shiva!
These trips are catered for families of young and old, with something for everyone. We will be staying in the best accommodation possible in Mayapur and a 4 star hotel, right on the beach in Jagannatha Puri Dham! All meals are freshly prepared, to the highest standards and most dietary requirements can be catered for!
This year, we have a very special offer on for teenagers to come on the trip without their families, incase their families can’t attend. We want to facilitate their spiritual and illuminating experience in these holy places, during this vulnerable and impressionable time of their life.
Both the yatra trip leaders are DBS checked and have been teaching for the past decade. Teenagers will be able to join the trip for half the normal price!
Checkout the attached poster and this Google form link for more info and to sign up: https://forms.gle/nGR28VKwHqrCZpeaA
You can also email [email protected] for any questions or queries.
Looking forward to this spiritual journey with you and making a lifetime of sacred memories!
Thank you,
Kishori and Birju Jani

Email: [email protected]
Phone: 0116 326 6813 (Option 1 to leave a voicemail)
Please remember to state your child’s full name, tutor group and reason for absence. If your child is unwell, please could you give a brief description of the symptoms.
All education research highlights how crucial it is to a child’s academic progress and wellbeing they attend school , on time, all of the time. Therefore, a reminder that it is important that families organise events or holidays outside of school time to ensure that their child is at school as often as possible.
The school works closely with the Education Welfare Officer at LCC, and we do seek to ensure that any requests for authorised absence are dealt with on a case-by-case basis, in a sensitive manner. However, the school can never authorise a family holiday or a trip abroad to visit family members during term time.
This academic year, families will have two weeks at the October half-term, three weeks at Christmas and two weeks at Easter for extended family holidays. Please do ensure that if booking holidays, they fall within the holiday periods.
